What classes are available at Ekinox?
Pilates
Pilates is a form of mind-body exercise created by Joseph Pilates in the early 1920s that is practiced by men and women around the world!
Focusing on deep strengthening of the stabilizing muscles of your spine, Pilates helps you keep your back strong and relieve chronic tension and pain. Through fairly physical, but gentle, non-impact exercises, Pilates work especially the lower body muscles (abs, back and glutes), but also the arms, shoulders and hips.
Posture is a focus throughout the class. Learn exercises to help improve and correct your posture from head to toe. Regain greater mobility by gaining control of your muscle function and improving your strength, power, balance and flexibility so you can do whatever you are passionate about!
Expect to stand, sit, lie down on your back, your front, your side, rock, glide and rotate your body. No shoes are required. Although this is not a cardio class, it is possible that some of the exercises will increase your heart rate.
Ekinox Fitness
In the Ekinox Fitness class, sessions are structured as dynamic stations, where you rotate through a series of exercises, an approach that ensures a complete and varied workout by targeting different muscle groups and aspects of your physical condition.
Let’s activate your well-being together! You can expect a well-rounded combination of cardiovascular exercises to improve endurance, resistance training to build strength, and balance and stability training to help you stay steady on your feet. Our class emphasizes proper form and technique, promoting physical balance and resilience. Ekinox Fitness provides a purposeful and results-driven approach to achieving holistic fitness and an overall sense of well-being!
Creating Space Within – Guided Meditation
*Class offered in French only.
Give yourself a moment to let go of what has been building up week after week.
This guided meditation class, led by our hypnotherapist, offers a safe space to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with yourself. Everyday concerns are welcomed with care, then gently transformed, like fertile ground, allowing new ideas to blossom in hope, lightness, and a sense of calm to emerge.
Each 60-minute class includes:
– a welcoming space to share and release
– setting an intention for the evening
– a guided visualization
– a gentle closing and reflectionOver the weeks, the approach may gradually evolve, from focusing on letting go to fostering inner clarity, helping each participant move toward a more aligned direction.
A weekly moment to create space, and move forward differently.
